Marlon Brando was awarded Best actor in a leading role 3 years running ‘51-’53, which included his part played in “On the Waterfront”. When he was awarded the same honour for “The Godfather” he boycotted the ceramony by sending Sacheen Littlefeather in his place, stating that he did not want the award due to the depiction on native americans by hollywood at the time.
