Kilograms to Pounds

Hannah writes to ask: If I stand on my bathroom scales and they say I am 60kg what is my weight?

Ah, like most of us Americans, Hannah has’t a clue how the metric weights and measures compare. Someday, perhaps, we’ll get with the program (the rest of the world uses metrics) but until then, just remember that one kilogram equals approximately 2.2 pounds of weight. Or you can use this handy calculator which just informed me that you, Hannah, weigh 132 pounds and 4.4 ounces.

Thanks for asking!
