Better late than never....

With the limited amount of time I do have here, now and then I've got a blog entry all written and don't get to post it. What can I say?

So today I am trying to clean up my disaster area in the "stuff to upload while I'm in town" folder and found some "old" blog entries that never got entered. Here's the first one:

The last couple of days we’ve been working on painting the interior of the little house, apartment really, where we are staying. Because of which, we have had to make a couple of trips into town – one to buy paint, and the other to buy paint again – the first batch not quite having matched the second batch.

The good side of that is that on our first trip into town we passed some buffalo. Yes, buffalo. Wild buffalo. Casually grazing along on their way to a little watering hole. First an old bull, and then the small herd along behind him. Yes – we’ve learned to always take the camera.

The trip in the next day was just as exciting – if not more so. Well, it is always a wonderful trip as we wind through the mountains and past the lake on our way to town. But it’s even more fun when we see a pair of Oryx! They, too, were visiting the watering hole. Unfortunately, they were not close enough to the road to get a good photo. Unlike the buffalo, the minute they spotted James with the camera, they headed away from the road. Their caution is warranted – as they are hunted here. They are non-native and breed year round. With the movement to try and bring the land back to as near a natural state as possible, they’re not wanted. Still – it is pretty amazing for us to see an African antelope, or two, wandering around on our way to town!

And yes- BTW – I added some more ecards at Fre-ecards with the buffalo and more of James great photos of the scenery around here, as well as some clipart of the buffalo to Demented-Pixie Graphics and even a picture to color of the buffalo at Color Your Own.

Now - the thing is - I also didn't get all that art and stuff uploaded either. I did get the buffalo up at Color Your Own and I added him at Fre-ecards.com just the other day, along with quite a few other photos - and today I am going to be adding more Southwestern flair photos to the ecard site.

I also got my husband's subdomain - just for his photos - up and working at James Moore - Stock Photography. Boy - those subdomains are stubborn about working - I don't know why.

While we're on the subject - I got some other pages up at Color Your Own, too. A Angus Cow and Calf, a Prancing Unicorn, and a Black Rhino. I know - kind of oddball stuff - odds and ends I had around that are finally getting worked on.

This no Internet at home is a mixed blessing that way. I am writing and doing art and working on the endless list of "todos" from forever - but then I get to town and...here we are, trying to clear up the endless pile of things I've had ready to upload that I haven't gotten up yet.

We stopped today and talked to some folks about getting Internet out at the place. OUCH. But then - coming into town three times a week costs us gas and lunch so -

The husband has a job interview Wednesday - think good thoughts! If he gets the job - we'll get the Internet.

Blessedbe
