Worked in town all day doing some cleaning for a lovely lady and came home to find my new Wacom tablet waiting for me. It works! I’m indescribably happy.
Even though I have to work in town again tomorrow and possibly one more day. We is back in business!

If you’ve been wondering what happened with the “one new coloring page a day” self-challenge, well, disaster struck when my beloved and overworked WACOM tablet staged a total melt-down.
I love living in the desert, but when something like this happens, it is more than a little inconvienent. I had a choice between driving close to 100 miles to the nearest city that MIGHT have a store that MIGHT have a Wacom in stock in my price range, or purchasing on line and waiting for it to ship. In the long run, given the current gas prices, shipping was quite likely to be less expensive.
A blessedly wonderful seller on eBay had a Wacom that was newer than what I had, although not the newest with all the bells and whistles, at a great price, and was kind enough to ship it immediately, even though he is waiting for a money order to arrive for it!
I am awaiting with baited breath arrival of the new tablet. Meanwhile, I think I’ll go have some lunch and watch the new “Godzilla” movie. I am such a Godzilla fan, it isn’t funny. Now all those oldies are available on DVD, as well as the newer movies. There’s a really cool lens about Godzilla on Squidoo.
Hmm, do you think anyone besides me would get really excited about some Godzilla coloring pages when I get the new tablet?

Coloring Pages for Kids Boys has a great selection of coloring pages featuring cars, trucks, tractors, and “boy stuff”. Myself - I’ve got a coloring book sitting on the coffee table right now, two in fact, that are of cars and “boy stuff”. I’m a big car afficianado and NASCAR fan so I really enjoy coloring cars myself - and I’m a “girl”.
I know I haven’t gotten a new coloring page up for a couple of days. I had planned on one day off (even self-employed artists get a day off, don’t they?) then had some family things come up and had to take another, and now today I have to go to town. Going to town, BTW, entails an hour trip each way - LOL. I HOPE to be back later today with some new coloring pages - but I daren’t promise.
A few days ago I got another request for line art for a tattoo. I thought I’d mention that not only am I open to such requests, I’m thrilled to death that someone would want to wear a piece of my artwork on their body for the rest of their lives. So the answer to that is always an enthusiastic YES!
Now if I’m going to get that art done, never mind anything else, I best be going! Have a wonderful day!

Yes, yet another Western Performance Horse Coloring Page. This horse is doing a large circle to the left (you can tell by the lean) probably at a hand gallop - and his rider is wearing lots of cowgirl bling!
Don’t forget to enter our contests!
This was a fun request - the Newfoundland Pine Marten. Although they are similar to the American and European Pine Marten, all three are different species. The Newfoundland Pine Marten is endangered. There may be as few as 300 left on the island. It would be a shame if these cute little fellas disappeared.
Thanks for the request - and I’m always open for more!
Hey, so far so good on the personal challenge!

I’ve just added another new horse coloring page - Reining Horse #2. You might be wondering why I created two reining horse coloring pages that seem so similar. There is method to my madness! There are a number of differences between the two that might really matter to a serious reining horse enthusiast!
The three most obvious differences are that one rider is a woman, and the other is a man. One horse is a fairly typical Quarter Horse type, and the other probably has a bit of Arabian blood judging from the dished face. Obviously, they are facing different directions. There are other differences, too.
So here’s our first contest!
Comparing the two reining horses; Reining Horse #1 and Reining Horse #2, how many differences can YOU find? Email your list to me at dpixie AT demented-pixie.com, with CYO contest in the subject line. May 2nd will be the last day of the contest and I will put up the list of differences you’ve all sent me on May 3rd. I’ll put the names of all who enter into a cowboy hat and draw a winner. Given that I’m pretty broke right now - I’m not sure how much of a prize I’ll have.
What would you like for a prize? A year’s subscription to a horse magazine? A gift certificate for one of the fun horse shopping websites listed at JustHorseCrazy.com? A personal drawing of your own horse (or other pet) from your photo? Maybe a drawing of your horse from your photo added to Color-Your-Own.com to be immortalized forever? Perhaps a badge to add to your website or blog? Maybe a little cash prize payable through PayPal?
YOU tell ME - in the comments - what you would like to have for a prize.
By the way - those of you who play Orbis Games might want to know that I have another contest running for those players. Details for that contest are here - the prize is 8 unmade foundies at Virtual Pups (thus I figure only people who play those games would be interested - but it would make a nice start for a new player, too)
Now as for the challenge. I’m challenging myself, now that I have this lovely blog to post daily updates, to add one drawing every day this month - through the end of April. If I manage it, I will probably try to continue it…as long as I can keep up!
Hope to see lots of contest entries!
Just added a new horse under saddle, a reining horse coloring page. I plan to add a few more in the coming days - so if you are a big western performance horse fan, check back soon!

I haven’t added a single drawing this week. Pretty unusual for me, and I had hoped to maybe add a few this morning just so I wouldn’t be totally embarrassed. Alas, I have something like 400 emails in one inbox to deal with and got bogged down working on that.
The truth is, this last week was fraught with some major stress. Some people cope with stress by working twice as hard. Actually, I do work a lot when I am stressed, but because my brain is fuzzy, I focus on simple small things. These things tend to not be very visible to the casual visitor. Things like improved navigation at the clipart site, updated robots.txt files on all the domains and subdomains to make it easier for the search engines to find what they are looking for - so you can find what you are looking for.
All at once the stress was not only removed, but reversed, as we learned that some people who were making our lives miserable were so in the wrong that they can be counter-sued. I think we all just collapsed around here and slept for two days. And then I had a day I had to go in town and run some errands. This and that until I realized it was Friday and I had actually gone an entire week without adding a single coloring page.
So I’ve mooched and meandered about my many blogs and social sites today, reading a lot of news and information, watching videos and otherwise being a bit lazy really. If I can get it to work, I have a nice widget from MyBlogLog I’d like to add here (gosh, I need to add this blog to the account) and other than that - I shall leave you.
Watching some neat videos today, I realized I have absolutely no Australian wildlife - so I may add some roo’s and such this week. I have only one dog request, Great Danes, and I thought I’d do a few of the other Molossers, too, such as Mastiffs. If you have any requests, now is a great time to get them in!

Hi and welcome to the Color-Your-Own.com blog! The main reason for this blog is to keep you updated as new coloring pages are added. I will also share links to other great coloring pages sites.
This week I was on a real pony binge due to a request that actually came in from my Ask Me Anything blog. Someone was seeking a line drawing of a Shetland pony head to embroider on her children’s tack bags and show jackets.
It was really fun to draw all the ponies - and even nicer when she wrote me back and said thanks and that her kids were having a great time coloring all the pages they had found on Color-Your-Own.com.
The new pages for this week are:
- Shetland Pony Headstudy
- Shetland Pony Mare
- Shetland Pony under English Saddle
- Shetland Pony under Western Saddle
- Welsh Cob Pony
I also found another wonderful coloring pages site this week that is geared mainly to adults. Let Me Color blog features coloring pages from LetMeColor.com - sort of like this blog! Most of the pages up right now are of various sports such as basketball.
I drop by all of my blogs every Friday (or at least I try to). I love quotes, so this is an excuse for me to share a favorite quote. Since so many people who like Color-Your-Own.com are “horse people” I’d like to share a fun horse quote I found this week:
“The nice thing about horses was that some engineer didn’t redesign them every year and make yours obsolete. - Anonymous, The Arizona Republic, Dec. 21, 2007
If you are a horse person - please make a few minutes to visit JustHorseCrazy.com another of my websites. It is a human edited directory of the best horse sites on the web. The blog (which is in the blogroll here) is full of articles about horses, care, training, news and more. I’m always looking for more sites to add, so feel free to submit your favorite sites.
I haven’t really fixed this blog all up like I hope, so be looking for more changes and improvements soon. I will be updating every time I add new coloring pages at Color-Your-Own.com. And don’t forget, I love requests, so if you can’t find something you want, please email with your request.
So far my plans for next week include Mastiff dogs and Great Danes - in answer to a request.
Have fun!
