No affiliation, but I recieved my Dover Sampler today (you can sign up to get them in your email - they’re great!) and it included this book, How to draw animals and I was thought you just might be interested in it!

I got my new ISP yesterday! Wheeee! New coloring pages later today -

Oh, and just a note. So many people are starting new blogs about all sorts of related subjects, coloring pages, clipart, and childrens pages and I do drop by and visit them. However, if you don’t have any way for me to contact you or comment, I can’t ask you to exchange links…hint hint hint.

I really need to spend today working on my new blog over at Foovay’s Cauldron. If you are interested, it is a central blog for all of my projects and will also be a place where I can inflict my own thoughts, essays, rants and raves on you poor readers. So if you want to know not only when I put up new coloring pages, but when I put up new clipart or new articles about animals or publish another book or just whatever in all the many things I do you might consider grabbing the feed at Foovay’s Cauldron or blogrolling or whatever :D

Meanwhile, since I might not get a chance to add new coloring pages here, I thought I’d go have a look at another coloring pages site I ran onto a few weeks ago. HorseColoringPages.net has less than 100 drawings to color, and some of them are hardly more than traced silhouettes - but it depends on what you want the drawing for. They’d be great for stencils or some crafts. There are some restrictions on use, including republishing, so I don’t think you could color them and use them for your horse on Virtual Horse Ranch for instance - so be sure to read the restrictions and be respectful in your use of the free coloring pages.

Go forth and enjoy and I’ll see you tomorrow with some new additions!

I had a request for lions and another Quarter Horse.

I had to go back and look at the Quarter Horses I had already - just to make sure I wasn’t putting up a duplicate. It occurred to me I didn’t have one in that old standard pose. Probably showing my age, but I remember when just about every photo in the Western Horseman magazine was a bulldog American Quarter Horse Stallion in three quarters pose from the rear so you could see the “engine” - those heavily muscled driving hindquarters.

Lions are such magnificent creatures - they were a real pleasure to add to the Wildlife section of coloring pages. A magnificent male, and a noble lioness snuggling with her cub;

I just checked the lion page to make sure it was showing up okay, and there is an ad for “Draw Lions and Tigers” - and Bears, do you suppose? LOL. Hey - I don’t have any bears do I? Well, you know what to expect tomorrow now!

Here’s links to the new pages:

Enjoy!

I’ve been sick today and haven’t felt like much else so I sat and drew four new coloring pages :D

We have a bandwidth limit as well (but I do so love my rancho in the desert) which we have exceeded this month, meaning I am currently enjoying slower than dial-up speeds and frequent resetting of connection. *Sigh* Oh, and it’s super windy, which isn’t helping the Internet connection any! LOL.

But I can ALWAYS draw - so lets get on to the new coloring pages, shall we?

The Tasmanian Devil has been in the news lately which got me to thinking of them. Poor creatures seem to have gotten some very strange cancer that is actually contagious and spread by biting - something they really like to do! It is spreading so quickly and is so fatal that they are actually threatened with extinction or possibly something near it and are now listed as endangered.

Tomorrow I have to go to town, which means I will probably be working all day on wireless here there and everywhere - LOL - BUT no new artwork as I will be on my laptop. See you Friday, then!

Posted on May 16, 2008, by admin in Friday quote and update, Websites I like.

Quite a whiles back I mentioned LetMeColor.com as another great source of free coloring pages - only I got the link completely wrong! The blogger kindly wrote me and gently corrected me *blush* so here is it now with the correct link and a mention, too, that there are many categories there besides sports, including horses and ponies.

I started yet another blog this week - Fre-ecards.com blog which is to keep folks updated on the newest additions at Fre-ecards.com. I gave that website a major face lift this week, which it really needed. I set it up some years ago because I love ecards myself and it seemed as if all the free ecard websites on line were going to a very irritating stage of tons of pop-up ads, floating ads, malware, spyware, paid memberships, SPAMMING, you name it. I don’t think they’ve changed much either. :( Well, fre-ecards.com doesn’t make much of a blip in my income - but it does offer nice, free ecards, mostly with my own artwork or that of friends and family, as well as some things from the public domain and it doesn’t drown you in advertising. Maybe if you enjoy my art, you’ll enjoy the ecards there.

Friday is blog day for me - but if I get time, I’ll be back with some new coloring pages!

It all started with a post at my Ask Me Anything blog, in answer to a question about a bird that looked like a pigeon. I was having so much fun looking at all the wild and crazy fancy pigeons that I lost it - I drew four of them for Color-Your-Own.com. So - four new bird coloring pages today:

I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!

Two new pages today - both of the magnificent Norweigan Forest Cat with their lush, full coats which make them so much fun to draw and to color.

Seated Norweigan Forest Cat

I am open to requests, as always. I don’t have any specific requests right now, so these two beauties are in answer to the general requests for cats. Oddly enough, most people would tell you I am a “cat person” and yet I don’t have that many on the coloring pages yet. It’s because I just can’t choose which to draw! I love them all!

At last our Fairy Prince has his Fairy Princess. She unaccountably looks like Princess Di to me - even though I didn’t intend for her to and in fact, used another of my favorite models, Milla Janovich, for the facial details. In another departure from tradition, instead of either butterfly or dragonfly wings, I decided some nice drapey moth wings would go with her princess style dress - LOL.

Now since I believe the fey folk are pure energy and can change their appearance to anything they wish - doesn’t it just make sense that a fairy princess could switch wings to complement her dress?

Enjoy!

As promised, here is your Fairy Prince Coloring Page. He will have to await his princess for the ‘morrow for I’ve been working quite intensely since early this morning and my brain and fingers are fried and cramped.
