SEO Pop?

This blog is under a week old and is replacing a much older and more established blog at this location. It is meant to be something of an umbrella project, a central place to chat about things, and help you find the updates to all my blogs, websites, and art pages (clipart, coloring pages, and other such like things).

I haven’t begun to tweak it for SEO, and even when I do it probably won’t get much as the only keyword phrase I could think of to work on would be my name, Summer Fey Foovay - because otherwise we will get into dozens of keywords - coloring pages, animal and nature articles, fiction, clip art, and so on. Due to the nature of my work - writing articles and drawing clip art and line art, I’m far more likely to receive my search engine traffic directly into one of my websites which is focused - Color-Your-Own.com for coloring pages and line art, Demented-Pixie Clipart for clipart and so on.

Friday, I read an article on another blog that mentioned BlogCatalog and made a mental note to add my blogs. After all, MyBlogLog has definately led to an increase in traffic for several of my blogs, most notably Ask Me Anything blog. A little later in the day - on Friday, mind you - I set up a membership at BlogCatalog, here I am. Notice that at the moment at least, I have no photo, no profile, no nothing. It was late in the day and I was too tired to figure it all out, so I just submitted this blog and left.

Saturday, just because I like to do it now and then and see what I get, I googled myself. The Blog Catalog page was on the first page of results. It was Sunday before I even received the email to tell me my submission was approved!

Now go figure - I just Googled myself again - and the BlogCatalog link has vanished almost altogether, certainly not on the top three pages of results. See me making funny quizzical faces here.

Heh. Well, I will say I’ve made it a priority to get the other blogs listed there today.

Now if I could get MyBlogLog to change the URL for Foovay’s Cauldron (they are linked to the old one) I’d be happy.

Meanwhile, I’ve decided to spend most of the rest of today whipping some email and Ask Me Anything questions. I also reviewed a good new bird watching guide over at Naturalist Notebook and blogged at Animal Nerd blog

It is hot here today - but at least it isn’t that wet blanket stuff I used to get in Oklahoma. I do love New Mexico

My Verizon Wireless Internet doohicky is doing a marvelous job so far and according to the BW Usage meter, we aren’t even close to our limit. In fact, looking at that, I wonder how Wild Blue is getting their figures - because I don’t see how what seems to be our normal use would put us over the limit every month. This is just going to be a better solution all around, I think.

Off to add blogs to BlogCatalog, answer some questions, massacre some email. I may have some really cool news tomorrow!
