Some more Westminster Kennel Club Show ClipartAs usual, I wasn't that crazy about the Greyhound. I really think the NGA dogs, bred to race, look so much structurally stronger and more muscular than the AKC dogs bred to a standard emphasizing refinement. Of course, there are double registered dogs, and in fact, I looked into double registering my last hound since I was showing in Obedience and Agility at the time. Of course, that was Rhythym. She let me know that she thought Agility was just fine for the Sheltie, but she wanted no part of the dog show life. She was perfectly content to watch us pack up and leave for a few days, as long as she got a nice run with me when I got home, chasing the squirrels down by the river. So I didn't pursue the registration and couldn't tell you how difficult it might be. Rhythym was so slight, she might have done well in conformation! Anyway, by happy coincidence I spent yesterday working on the Bull Terrier graphics - and that cutie Rufus went and won Best in Show! How about that! The new Bull Terrier pages are up now - here's the list if you'd like to see them:
I do still intend to finish doing pages for each of the Group winning breeds and you bet I'll enjoy doing the Scottish Deerhounds! Hug the hounds for me! OH - one last note - about this time of year all the Greyhound Rescue associations start working on their fund raisers. I'd just like to mention that as always, if you would like a gift certificate for an original portrait of a greyhound for your fund raiser I will be happy to donate one. These certificates are now the ONLY way to get a dog portrait by me! Also, because of the time involved, I will only donate a limited number of certificates this year. I've already recieved one request and will soon post with the details. Summer
