We're off to Ireland! Dundalk Stadium is the first all weather racecourse for dogs and horses. It looks like a beautiful facility. I happened to hear about it because Jenny Ní Breathnach contacted me about using some artwork for the website soon to be created for the on-course rescue/rehoming program. She mentioned that it is a first in Ireland! I'm quite honored! One of the things I really loved about visiting the track when I was in Wichita, KS was the on site rehoming group. I always stepped in and visited with the hounds, and they always tried to convince me (because of my experience as a vet tech, etc.) to take a special needs dog. LOL. With two hounds at home already, one of them an elder girl and the other with ... ISSUES ... I really did not feel I could take any more on at the time. Sadly, I heard that the track is now closed there. It was a beautiful facility and I have some good memories of it. Wouldn't it be fun to take a world tour and see the racing facilities in each country that runs greyhounds? Educational, too, I'm sure. Maybe someday...
