The Gods are smilingHow do you keep a water nymph alive in the desert? You buy her a kiddie pool where she can sit and bask in the sun while her feet, or more, soaks in delicious cool water. I do this most every day, now that I live in the desert, and it always puts me in mind of Goldberry in LOTR (the books - sadly she and Tom Bombadill did not make it into the movies). If you are a fan of the books you will recall that Tom Bombadill finds and rescues the hobbits from Old Man Willow while he is running an errand. He is collecting the last water lillies of the fall for Goldberry. Later she sits in their home, water lilies floating about her feet - apparently soaking her feet in a tub with them. Everything about Goldberry, River Daughter, screams "water nymph". They tell me this is the wettest year ever around here - I don't suppose it could be because a water nymph just moved in...
